Betsy lives in the old centre, close enough to Rembrandtplein that she hears last rounds being called on a summer night. That closeness is useful, and it is also why she asks a guest to be back in his room before she leaves, since a corridor at one in the morning is no place to wait. She speaks Czech and English and keeps both brief when a guest is tired. Soapy and body-to-body sessions are her usual choice, and she decides on the night what the hour will hold. Twenty-three, and unbothered by a late confirmation. For a soapy session she asks in the thread whether the room has a bath or a shower with space to stand, since that decides how the hour opens. A body-to-body hour needs no such question, and a warm towel at the end takes the oil off the skin, leaving the rest for the morning. She sets out from the old centre once the booking is confirmed and knocks forty to sixty minutes later, so a guest still on a terrace near the square has a margin to get back first.

Betsy decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
