Erotic massage in Amsterdam or the hotel spa: what is still open after dark
A hotel spa is a fine place to spend an afternoon: a pool, a sauna, a treatment room that runs to a timetable. By the time dinner is over, most of them have closed, and the question of a massage moves upstairs to the room.
Spas inside hotels keep daytime hours, with the last treatments usually booked in the early evening and the doors locked well before a late dinner ends. Even the larger ones in the city rarely take a booking for after ten. For a guest whose evening runs from a table to a bar and then to the room, they belong to a different part of the day.
What each one is for
A spa treatment is a fixed menu in a shared building: a robe, a waiting area, a therapist working to a schedule and a door back to the corridor when the time is up. A session in your own room after a night out is something else. She comes to you, at the hour you chose, and the session follows a format you picked from the list of services, at a pace she sets. There is no reception, no other guest in a robe, and no walk back through the hotel afterwards.
Using both on one trip
Many guests do. The spa covers a slow afternoon, the sauna and a swim before dinner; the evening then ends in the room, with a booking made on the way back. If you have been to the spa during the day, avoid stacking a long treatment and a long session on the same date. A body that was worked on in the afternoon may prefer a gentle sensual session at night to anything firmer.
How a hotel sees a visitor
A room is yours to receive a visitor within what the hotel allows. Large hotels with staffed lobbies see visitors coming and going late as a matter of course. Smaller ones sometimes have house rules, or a street door that locks after a certain hour; the page on hotels whose door locks at night explains how a late arrival works in those buildings.
When the spa is still the right call
If what you want is a pool, steam and a treatment table in a quiet daytime setting, the spa is the place for it, and nothing here replaces it. If what you want is the end of an evening out, in your own room, at an hour no spa keeps, that is what the house arranges, and it does so from a message sent on the way back.
